Research question

What is the typical BPC-157 dose?

Preclinical research protocols typically use BPC-157 doses in the 200-500 mcg per day range, administered subcutaneously on a once- or twice-daily schedule. The dose range reflects the animal-model protocols across the Sikiric-Seiwerth group literature and cross-laboratory replication studies. Human-cohort data is limited to small pilot studies and does not establish a definitive human dose range.

What the research literature says

The preclinical BPC-157 dose range was characterised across the multi-decade Sikiric-Seiwerth research program and consolidated in the Cerovecki musculoskeletal-soft-tissue-healing review (PMID 30915550), the Gwyer wound-healing review (PMID 34267654), and the Sikiric 2024 gastrointestinal-protection comprehensive review (PMID 38980576). Protocols typically use 10 mcg/kg body weight as a reference dose in rodent models, scaling to human-equivalent doses in the low-microgram-per-kg range.

The Hsieh angiogenic-mechanism work (PMID 27847966) and the Chang tendon-fibroblast culture work (PMID 21030672) used similar dose tiers to characterise the VEGFR2 engagement and growth-hormone-receptor up-regulation findings. Higher-dose protocols extend toward 1-2 mg per day in specific research contexts but the 200-500 mcg tier is the typical anchor across the literature.

Human-cohort data is comparatively limited. A 2024 interstitial cystitis pilot trial (PMID 39325560) and earlier small studies have used doses in similar ranges. The absence of large clinical trials means no definitive human dose range has been established through formal regulatory development; research-supply protocols extrapolate from the preclinical literature.

Why this matters in research context

The 200-500 mcg per day range is the operational anchor for most BPC-157 research protocols. Researchers running dose-titration studies typically start at the lower end (200 mcg) and titrate upward across 1-2 weeks based on experimental observations. The pulsatile-vs-continuous dosing question is less settled than for the GH-axis compounds — BPC-157’s short plasma half-life supports daily or twice-daily administration without sustained-elevation considerations.
