How We Verify Every Batch.
Ronin does not ship a compound without independent analytical confirmation. This page describes the full testing chain — from raw material intake through Certificate of Analysis delivery to the researcher who ordered it.
Why third-party testing matters.
In-house documentation is a starting point, not a finish line. Any manufacturer has an economic incentive to report favorable results — including us. The only way to verify what is actually in a vial is to send a sample to a laboratory that has no financial stake in the outcome.
Ronin contracts with an independent third-party analytical laboratory that specializes in peptide and small-molecule analysis. This laboratory operates independently of Ronin. It has no stake in whether a batch passes or fails. That structural independence is the foundation of the entire verification process described on this page.
The testing chain, step by step.
Every batch that enters Ronin inventory follows the same sequence. No exceptions, no expedited overrides, no “we tested the last lot so this one is fine” shortcuts.
- Batch produced in Canada. Each batch is logged into our intake record under its lot identifier and set aside — it does not enter sellable inventory yet.
- Sample sent to independent laboratory. A representative sample from the batch is shipped to our independent third-party analytical laboratory under the batch identifier. The laboratory receives the sample without context about the vendor, the order volume, or any prior test results.
- HPLC purity assay. The laboratory runs the sample through High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). This separates the target compound from any synthesis byproducts, degradation fragments, or contaminants and returns a quantitative purity percentage. Ronin’s minimum acceptance threshold is 99.0% purity by HPLC.
- Mass spectrometry identity confirmation. The same sample undergoes mass spectrometry (MS) analysis. This confirms that the molecular weight of the primary peak matches the expected molecular mass of the target compound. HPLC tells you how pure the sample is. Mass spec tells you what compound it actually is.
- Results recorded per lot. The laboratory issues a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the batch. The COA carries a unique verification key that anyone can use to confirm authenticity directly with the testing laboratory — independent of Ronin.
- Accept or reject decision. If the batch meets the 99.0% purity threshold and the mass-spec identity confirmation is clean, the batch enters sellable inventory. If it does not, the batch is rejected and destroyed. We do not negotiate on the threshold. We do not sell batches that fall between 98% and 99%.
Batch tracking and order linkage.
Every order Ronin ships is internally linked to its source batch at the moment the vials are packed. This means we can trace any individual order back to the specific lot it came from — and from that lot to the specific COA that covers it.
Retention samples from each accepted batch are stored in climate-controlled conditions. If a question is raised about a particular lot after it has shipped, we have physical material available for re-testing. This is standard practice in analytical chemistry and pharmaceutical supply chains. We apply it to every compound we stock.
How to access your COA.
Ronin does not publish COAs in a public archive. We made that decision for two reasons: to protect researcher order privacy and to prevent competitor scraping of our batch identifiers. Researchers who want a COA receive it directly for the batch they actually received.
The process is straightforward. Email support@roninpeptides.ca from the address associated with your order. Include your order number and the compound name(s) you need COAs for. We respond within 24 business hours — typically the same business day.
Each COA carries a verification key. You can independently confirm the test results directly with the testing laboratory using that key. The verification happens between you and the lab, with no involvement from us. That is the point — the verification step should not depend on the company that sold you the compound.
What the COA contains.
A Certificate of Analysis from our independent testing laboratory is a single-page document covering the data a researcher needs to confirm batch identity and purity:
- Compound name and lot/batch number.
- Purity percentage by HPLC, expressed as area-under-curve percentage.
- Mass spectrometry confirmation of molecular weight against the target compound’s expected molecular mass.
- Date of analysis.
- Unique verification key for independent confirmation at the testing laboratory’s verification portal.
Bacteriostatic Water follows a different pathway. As a USP-grade pharmaceutical excipient, it ships with a Certificate of Conformance (COC) rather than an HPLC/MS-based COA. The COC confirms sterility, endotoxin levels, and benzyl alcohol concentration against USP monograph specifications.
We reject batches.
Not every batch passes. That is the point of an independent testing chain. A verification process that never rejects anything is not a verification process — it is a rubber stamp.
When a batch fails to meet the 99.0% purity threshold or produces an ambiguous mass-spec result, it is rejected and destroyed at our expense. We do not reclassify it, discount it, or sell it as a “second-tier” grade. It does not enter inventory and does not reach a researcher. The cost of rejected batches is absorbed into our operating margin, not passed along to researchers.
This creates real economic pressure on us to hold our own production to a standard where batches clear the threshold the first time. A rejected batch is a cost we absorb directly, so the incentive to manufacture it correctly is our own. The incentive structure works precisely because we carry the cost of failure.
